JFK Presidential Visit To Cape Canaveral 1962 Booklet

A vintage 8"x 10-1/2" booklet for the Presidential Visit of John F. Kennedy to the Cape on September 11, 1962.  The booklet contains 19 pages of detailed itinerary and illustrations.  Excellent condition and quite uncommon.

Solar Optical Telescope Model Plus Manual

An early Solar Optical Telescope model approximately 8-9" tall.  The swiveling telescope is made of heavy plastic and is mounted on a nice wooden base.  This lot also comes with a Solar Optical Telescope System operating manual for the real thing.  Nice shape and very uncommon.

Twenty-one Cosmonaut Signed Items, 27 Total Signatures

A large group of color and B&W photographs all signed by at least one cosmonaut.  There are two 7"x 9" photos signed by the Soyuz 38 and Soyuz 40 crews and seven Soviet covers signed by various cosmonauts including Laveikin, Dzhanibekov, Jahn and the Soyuz-TM-12 landing crew.  There are also 13 smaller photos signed various cosmonauts and crews including the TM-7 landing crew, Volynov, Gorbatko, Yeliseyev, Nikolayev, Tsibliyev, Berezovoy, Volkov, Solovyov and one unknown.  My spell-checker is going crazy.  All the items are in various conditions with most still being in good shape with some small flaws.

Flown X-15 Cover Signed By Four X-15 Pilots

A 40th anniversary X-15 cover flown over Edwards AFB by pilot Joe Engle.  It is signed by former X-15 pilots, Engle, Scott Crossfield, Pete Knight and Bill Dana.  This one is number 327 of 1500 flown.  Excellent condition.

Launch Complex 36 Fragment In Lucite

A 2-1/2"x 6"x 1" block of lucite containing a 1"x 1-1/2" fragment from Launch Complex 36 which had launched 145 Atlas rockets frm 1962 to 2004.  New condition.  This one is #36 of 150 produced.

Project Centaur Technical Handbook

An early vinyl-bound Centaur Technical Handbook from General Dynamics dated 24 January 1966. It contains about 175 pages of illustrations, foldouts and information on the Centaur, the country's first hydrogen-fueled space launch vehicle. More of a familiarization document than a technical manual. Excellent condition and rare.

Chris Kraft Signed And Annotated 1963 Speech

An original 8"x 10½" Fact Sheet 9-page booklet from MSC concerning a paper written by Chris Kraft.  Kraft has signed the front of the booklet and apparently read the paper after signing, because he corrected several typos inside.  Excellent condition.

Deke Slayton's Silver 1960 Russian Pin

A vintage 1-1/2" long Russian lapel pin with the date "1960" engraved in the face and probably given to Deke Slayton during his time training for his Apollo-Soyuz mission, and in fact this pin was formerly in the personal collection of Slayton. I'm not sure what the significance of this pin was to the Soviets.  It comes with a 4"x 5½" Certificate of Authenticity card signed by Slayton's wife Bobbie attesting to the fact that it belonged to Slayton.  Excellent condition.

Six Different Launch Complex Cards With Fragments

Six different 5-1/2"x 8-1/2" cards each containing a fragment from an historic Launch Complex at KSC.  Launch Complexes represented are LC-5 (gantry fragment), LC-14 (gantry fragment), LC-19 (erector fragment), LC-19 again (white room tile), LC-26 (gantry fragment) and LC-34 (launch pedestal fragment).  All in excellent condition.
