2005

Richard Gordon's Life Space Tour Hardhat + Book

Richard Gordon's hardhat used while he was hosting the LIFE Executive Space Tour in late 1964.  The Superglas hardhat contains its internal head band plus a LIFE decal as well as Gordon's name on the front.  This lot also includes a humorous booklet commemorating the tour with about 25 captioned photographs.  Other astronauts appearing in the photographs that were part of the tour were Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton.

"On The Shoulders of Titans" Softbound NASA Book

NASA softbound book "On The Shoulders Of Titans - A History of Project Gemini" dated 1977, NASA SP-4203, containing 625 pages of B&W and color photos, charts and information about Project Gemini.  A couple nicks on the spine, but overall great shape.

Gemini Familiarization Manual - Astronaut Office Copy

An early Project Gemini Familiarization Manual from McDonnell and dated 15 March 1964 (revised 31 Dec 1964), SEDR 300.  This is the Astronaut Office copy of a manned Gemini manual that contains over 300 pages in 12 tabbed sections covering all aspects of the Gemini spacecraft with charts, foldouts, illustrations and information. Sections include Spacecraft Mission, Major Structural Assemblies, Cabin Arrangement, Sequence System, Electrical Power System, Environmental Control System, Cooling System, Guidance and Control System, Communications System, Instrumentation System, Pyrotechnics and Rocket System and Landing System. The tabs are worn from constant use, but the manual still looks to be in nice overall condition.  Uncommon.

2011

Gemini Program Launch Systems Final Report

An original Gemini Program Launch Systems Final Report dated January 1967 and prepared by the Aerospace Corporation.  It probably has close to 1000 pages of foldouts, photos, charts, illustrations, graphs and information dealing with the Gemini-Titan Target Vehicle, Gemini-Agena Launch Vehicle and the Atlas /SLV-3.  Nice condition and rare.

2012

Gemini RCS/Cooling Valves Spacecraft Panel

A 3-1/4"x 4" lightweight metal panel removed from the Gemini Mission Simulator after training was completed. The simulator used the exact same panels as did the actual spacecraft. The position of this panel in the spacecraft is shown in color on a Gemini controls layout drawing - in an overhead position. Heavily used in training by certainly most the early Gemini astronauts, it does show a bit of wear from that fact. Gemini artifacts such as this are quite rare.

A vintage vacuum-sealed pack of Gemini food - in this case Meat and Spaghetti used for training purposes in the Gemini Mission Simulator.  Nice condition considering its age and uncommon.

Gemini Vacuum-Packed Food - Unidentifiable & Contaminated

A vintage vacuum-sealed pack of Gemini food - in this case some sort of juice.  This package was used for training purposes in the Gemini Mission Simulator and has been labeled as contaminated, although it is still well sealed.  Nice condition considering its age and uncommon.

Large Gemini Mission Emblem Color Print

An 11"x 14" color glossy photograph of a Gemini spacecraft mounted on a 14"x 18" matte board.  The photo contains all the Gemini mission emblems along with facsimile signatures of all the astronauts.  Excellent condition.

Four Large Gemini-Era Color Photos

Four large 11"x 14" color photos three of which show Ed White during his Gemini 4 spacewalk and the other which shows the first two Group of astronauts (facsimile signatures).  The group photo has some flaws along the edges while the Ed White photos only show very minor dings.

An original Gemini 3 Gemini Operations Handbook from NASA and MSC updated as of the date May 10, 1964.  It contains 10 tabbed sections of about 200-300 pages of many foldouts, diagrams, charts and information all contained in a vintage 3-ring binder.  Tabbed sections include Sequential, Electrical, Control, Environmental, Navigation, Communications, etc.  The manual has its miscellaneous dings, but considering it age and that it was used at the time, its still in nice shape.  Rare for sure.

An original Gemini 3 Mission Rules manual dated 9-24-64 containing 13 sections and about 100-150 total pages.  Sections include General Guidelines, Booster Systems, Trajectory and Guidance, Sequential, Recovery, and many more.  The manual itself is in great condition but the notebook containing it had separated with age.  Quite rare.

Rare Gemini 9 Crew Patch Variant

An original 8"x 10-1/2" MSC booklet "GT-10 Post Flight Report" dated 30 January 1967 and containing 85 pages of charts, graphs and information about the flight.  Used at the time and a bit spotted and faded with age, but still complete and in good shape.  Uncommon.

An original Gemini 10 Final Flight Plan dated June 22, 1966, less than 1 month before the launch.  It contains over 280 pages in three sections including Detailed Flight Plan, Procedures and Summary Flight Plan.  Used at the time and the tabs are quite worn with the back cover loose from the staple, but still complete and in good shape.  The consignor's name, at his request, has been covered over for the auction photograph.  Very uncommon.

Charles Conrad's Gemini 11 Procedures Checklist w/Notations

An original Gemini 11 Procedures Checklist belonging to Gemini 11 astronaut Charles Conrad, whose name appears on the cover.  It contains over 50 well-used pages loaded with Conrad's annotations, and I even see some writing in Richard Gordon's hand.  It looks like Conrad even made all the tabs himself.  Faded with age and from heavy use, but still good shape.  Very uncommon.

Charles Conrad's Gemini 11 Rendezvous Training Charts

Charles Conrad's Gemini 11 Rendezvous Training Charts in a loose-leaf notebook containing 46 charts each in a plastic sleeve in order to mark them up repeatedly with a grease pencil.  Some have pencil notations on the page itself, and indeed the pencil used comes attached to the notebook with a string.  There is also a sheet of lined paper inside with probably Conrad's hand calculations.  Used condition.
